Dear Friend:
Just a few short months ago I was honored and humbled to have been elected
to represent the people of the 32nd Senate District. Our campaign platform
was simple, strong, and came from many of the people I met in the
campaign-reducing spending and lowering taxes, protecting our families with
tough criminal justice reforms (including a bona-fide "three strikes and
you're out law") and making Connecticut a more business-friendly state in
order to create and keep jobs.
Now, five months after you sent me to the Senate, I am running for re-
election to my first full term. Why? Because despite the small victories
we've had, the majority party running the Legislature is tone deaf to the
common-sense agenda that you sent me to fight for. Despite many Connecticut
families and businesses struggling with high gas prices, the majority
Democrats refuse to even have a debate on a "Gas Tax Holiday" for the summer
months. And despite many families in fear of losing their jobs in this
shaky economy, the majority Democrats continue to propose (and sometimes
pass) legislation that drives small businesses-and the jobs we create-out of
Connecticut.
The ideas and advice that so many of you have given me over breakfast at a
coffee shop, or in the grocery store or when Marcy and I pick up our kids at
daycare, are worth fighting for, and I humbly ask for your vote once again
this November.
Sincerely,

Rob Kane
